Support for managing relationship difficulties
What are relationship difficulties?
It could be a current relationship that is having a challenging time, it could be a past relationship which is impacting you or the breakdown of a relationship. Relationships are a huge part of our lives and often have wider relationships connected to them, finances, social lives, housing and sometimes children involved. It can be incredibly difficult to navigate difficulties or a breakdown without any support.
Signs and symptoms of relationship difficulties
When we are experiencing relationships difficulties it can be a rollercoaster of emotions, we might start to question who we are and feel overwhelmed about overcoming things. Relationship breakdowns can be traumatic or bring strong feelings of anxiety and depression. It can be a turbulent and confusing time and impact our daily lives
How can counselling help?
Counselling provides a safe space to understand what the relationship difficulties are, the impact it is having and what the options are to be able to move forward. It could involve supporting individuals setting boundaries and prioritising self care. Sometimes we lose part of our identity in difficult relationships and we can support unearthing a sense of self again so clients feel ready to articulate their needs and wants, and move forward.
Counselling can provide you with tools to:
Identify the cause of the relationship difficulty
Process and understand the impact it has had
Understand what the options are to more forward
